The Chevrolet Silverado is getting a few exciting changes for the 2024 model year.
2.7L Engine Renamed “TurboMax”
For 2024 the high-output 2.7L Turbocharged four-cylinder engine is getting a name change. Read all about it here.
3.0L Duramax Now An Option On ZR2
The Silverado ZR2 will get a new engine option for 2024. Previously, the ZR2 could only be ordered with the 6.2L V8 Gasoline engine but starting next model year, buyers can also opt for the 3.0L Duramax Diesel engine as well. With 305 Horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque, the 3.0L Duramax offers off-road explorers a great option with a lot of power at low speed, where crawlers and off-roaders spend much of their time.
Blackout Package, Midnight Edition & New Colors
A new Blackout package will be offered across the Custom, Custom Trail Boss, RST, LT Trail Boss, and ZR2 trim levels.
A Midnight Edition High Country with power-retractable assist steps will also be new for 2024. Also new for High Country is standard adaptive cruise control.
Two new exterior colors will also be offered, Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Slate gray Metallic.
Onstar along with Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto will also be standard on WT trim levels.
The Silverado will also get a new rear-seatbelt indicator, and the Safety Package and WT Safety Package will now include front and rear park assist.
6.2L V8 Will Get Active Dual Exhaust
For those who choose the high-horsepower 6.2L engine, a new Active Dual Exhaust will be part of the package. We presume it will act like the adaptive exhaust on the Corvette, changing loudness and tone depending on which drive mode you have selected. This should be a welcome addition for those (like us) who wanted their 6.2L engine to have a little more character at the touch of a button.
