Chevrolet is set to open orders for the highly anticipated Silverado EV First Edition RST to its reservation holders.
Nearly 792 days ago, on January 5, 2022, we placed a reservation for this groundbreaking Ultium electric pickup, investing $100 for an early spot to experience the first all-electric Silverado in the retail market. After a prolonged wait, Chevrolet has now announced that our wait is nearing an end. Reservation holders of the Silverado EV First Edition RST can place their orders starting next Monday, March 11th, until March 29th.
Chevrolet has electrified the pickup truck market with the introduction of the Silverado EV, starting with the Work Truck trim for fleet customers last summer. Now, the spotlight is on the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST First Edition, an upscale, limited-edition trim for the inaugural model year, with dealerships beginning to accept orders.
The Silverado EV RST First Edition’s performance is remarkable, boasting 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque in the Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode, which enables the truck to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. The vehicle also promises a GM-estimated range of 450 miles on a full charge, offering 10,000 pounds of towing capacity and a payload of 1,300 pounds.
The RST First Edition is loaded with advanced features that enhance its functionality and comfort. The Multi-Flex Tailgate and Midgate are standout features, extending the pickup bed into the cab for transporting long items. The interior of the RST First Edition includes luxury and tech-forward elements like a panoramic fixed glass roof, an 11-inch digital Driver Information Center, a 14-inch head-up display, and a 17.7-inch touchscreen. Wireless phone charging, a premium Bose stereo, and GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology are standard, along with a comprehensive suite of safety features.
The vehicle employs GM’s Ultium battery technology and Ultium Drive motors, built on the GM BT1 platform, and its production is based at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.
For GM truck enthusiasts, the Silverado EV represents a blend of the brand’s legendary capability and the latest in electric vehicle technology. Its combination of power, range, and innovative features like four-wheel steering, which is akin to that of the GMC Hummer EV, and the expansive set of standard and available features, position the Silverado EV RST First Edition as a true game-changer in the electric pickup segment.
If you have a reservation- get ready. To secure your own Silverado EV First-Edition RST, Chevrolet encourages contacting your preferred dealer within the exclusive ordering window from March 11th to March 29th, 2024. This model is poised to redefine what’s expected from an electric pickup, merging traditional Silverado toughness with the latest EV technology for a groundbreaking driving experience.
