Some 2024 Chevrolet Traverse Limited models are being shipped to dealers but cannot be sold due to a missing part.
Chevrolet has instructed dealers to stop selling, driving, trading or otherwise using some 2024 Traverse Limited Crossovers due to, of all things, a missing badge. Note, this is the “Traverse Limited”, a carryover model that is the same as the outgoing 2023 model, not the all-new 2024 Traverse.
According to Stop Delivery Order N242436160:
On January 22, 2024, we communicated…. that certain 2024 model year Chevrolet Traverse Limited vehicles would begin shipping to dealerships on January 22, 2024, which may have a condition where the limited badge may be missing/built shy on the vehicle. This is due to a part shortage at our assembly plant, and will be remedied at the dealership once parts become available in accordance with a future GlobalConnect communication. Until further instructions are received, these vehicles must be held and not delivered to customers, dealer-traded, released to auction, used for demonstration purposes or any other dealer use. Certain vehicles have been, and will continue to be, remedied at the plant and delivered to dealers with the limited badge installed on the vehicle.
There’s no timeline for the updated parts to be shipped to dealers or how many vehicles this stop sale involves. Chevrolet continues to ramp up production of the all-new 2024 Traverse, but the new model has not yet hit dealership lots.
