Chevrolet announced a new Trail Boss package for its midsize Colorado pickup truck. The upgrade will be available for the first time in 2022, and follows the introduction of the same package for the full-size Silverado truck in 2019.
The Chevrolet Colorado is offered in four trims for 2022, which include Work Truck (WT) LT, Z71, and ZR2. The truck’s other features are a carryover from 2021. Work Truck models get a 7-inch touchscreen, while all others get an 8-inch unit. The standard powertrain for all trucks is a 2.5-liter inline-four that makes 200 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, but four-wheel drive can be optioned in. Two other powertrain options are offered, which include a 308-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 and a 181-horsepower 2.8-liter diesel with 369 pound-feet of torque.
The Trail Boss package is available for LT and Z71 models as a dealer installed upgrade. Features include:
- One-inch suspension leveling kit
- Front and mid-vehicle skid plates
- 17-inch ZR2 black wheels
- Black badging, including bowtie and model designation
- Red tow hooks
- Removal of front air dam
There’s no word yet on pricing or release date details for the new truck. We’ll keep an eye for more information from Chevrolet as it becomes available.
