We’ve captured another 2024 Silverado HD Prototype undergoing final testing and validation. This time, however, our view of the all-new headlights and animated lighting effects have been captured on video.
2024 Chevy Silverado HD Prototype – Our Photographer Reports
We caught some new prototypes of Chevrolet’s 2024 Silverado HD facelift wearing its production-spec headlights, giving us our best feel for the front-fascia redesign and providing video of its new animated turn signals.
These latest prototypes appear to confirm the Silverado HD’s new headlight configuration that was initially hinted at by the prototypes’ early placeholder lighting units. The headlights and LED signature are now clustered high up on the front-fascia, toning down the polarizing, two-tiered lighting design that has been a feature on the Silverado HD. The new look appears more conventional, and less awkward than the current Silverado HD.
We can see any “eyebrow” style LED signature at the top of the headlight cluster. The full extent of the LED signature is unknown, as tape still covers elements of the lighting unit. We can report on a new feature of the Silverado HD’s LED signature, which turns from white to amber and engages an animated “wiping” motion to indicate a left or right turn. The active LED signature is new for the Silverado HD, and follows the refreshed Silverado 1500 in adopting animation to modernize its look and function.
We can see more of the new grille design, with signs of the Chevy bow tie sitting high up on upper grille crossbar.
A reveal date for the updated Silverado HD has not been announced, but we’re clearly getting much closer to a reveal, as more production-spec elements are showing up on the latest prototypes. We’ll be on the lookout for more new details destined for GM’s line of refreshed Heavy Duty pickups.
