The 2024 HUMMER EV 3X pickup with the optional 24-module battery pack gets up to 30 miles of extra range.

GMC announced today that the top-of-the-line HUMMER EV Pickup in the 3X trim level will have 26 or 30 miles added to its total range, depending on how you equip it.

The news means that 24-module Ultium battery-equipped HUMMER 3X Pickups with the standard “on-road” drivetrain will now have a total range of 381 miles- a 26-mile gain over previous estimates. 3X Pickups with the Extreme Off-Road package will get a 30-mile boost, to 359 miles of range.

It’s unclear if these range estimates are the result of new hardware, real world testing, or some sort of software improvements. However, we can say that the GM-Trucks.com Edition 1 HUMMER EV Pickup regularly reads over 360 miles of range, even with the Extreme Off-Road Package. So, we’d lean towards a conservative estimate for the 2022-2023 models and a more refined real-world results-based number starting in 2024.

“For extended road trips, overlanding in remote areas or daily driving, the 2024 GMC HUMMER EV 3X Pickup will take you where you need to go, now with more driving range and confidence,” said Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer, GMC HUMMER EV. “As we expand the limits on our all-electric future, we’re excited to continue improving the range and to take the GMC HUMMER EV farther than ever for our customers and their adventures.”

Of course, this assumes GMC can build and produce the HUMMER EV 3X Pickup en mass, which it indicates will begin later this year. However, deliveries thus far of any HUMMER EV have been extremely limited.
