2023/2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models equipped with the Police Pursuit Package (RPO 9C1) may have been built with the wrong tires.
Chevrolet has announced “Customer Satisfaction Program N242437510 – Police Pursuit Package Tires” detailing the issue.
History of the Silverado Police Pursuit Package
Debuting in 2023, the Chevrolet Silverado Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) builds upon the brand’s 25-year success with the Tahoe PPV, offering a crew-cab, short-bed, four-wheel-drive platform tailored for high-speed pursuits and dynamic patrol operations. Powered by a 355-horsepower 5.3L V-8 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Silverado PPV features six-piston Brembo brakes and a heavy-duty engine air filter for enhanced performance and durability.
Its certified speedometer, 20-inch wheels, and all-terrain tires ensure confidence at top speeds, complemented by off-road capabilities including Rancho shocks, a locking rear differential, and a skid plate, with optional 2-inch lifted suspension for increased ground clearance. Upfitting options include auxiliary wiring circuits, surveillance mode, and configurable interior storage, while safety features such as Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control prioritize officer safety.
N242437510 – Police Pursuit Package Tires – Condition and Fix
Chevrolet has identified that certain 2023 and 2024 model-year Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vehicles may have been built with incorrect tires for the Police Pursuit Package. The tires mounted are Bridgestone instead of Goodyear.
Dealers will replace all four tires and the spare to match the intended tires for the package.
The tires to be fitted: Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunner A/T 275/60R20 – Part Number: 84553816
Dealers will scrap the old tires, drilling a 13mm hole in the sidewall, so they will not be reused. The new tires will be provided and mounted at no charge to law enforcement organizations who have purchased the pickups.
