2015 Sierra Snowflake wheels

Recommended Posts

This may be a stupid question but I just bought these wheels from a friend of mine who lifted his truck since mine came with the tiny 17 in rims. I am trying to find out if they chrome or polished aluminum. Just making sure I clean them with the correct cleaner. They have a hazy look to them.

Those look like the polished aluminum. Glad to see someone else has those too. Seems everyone else's snowflakes I see are chrome.

2014 were Chrome 2015 and up are polished with a clearcoat. The polished wheels have red GMC letters on the center cap. The chrome wheels do not have red GMC letters.

Thank you that answers my question these had red gmc center caps before I switched them out with chevy ones!

Any recomendations on what to use to clean them?

Actually they come both ways. On the SLT and All-Terrain they are polished aluminum. On the Denali they are chrome (and have "Denali" stamped into the edge near the bead).

Soap and water is fine for either one. Then if they are chrome put a coat of wax on them 2 or 3 times a year.

Just a side note -- they fit either GMC or Chevy, and the centercaps are interchangeable too. I put a set of the Denali ones on my Silverado a few years ago and the wheel guy gave me Chevy centers that fit and match perfectly.

I use regular car wash with wheel brush, then a microfiber with just non ammonia glass cleaner, then I'll hit with spray wax as I do the rest of the truck

between real waxing. unless you let them get filthy with break dust there really is no need for anything else.
