Been cap shopping I believe I'm going to choose the Leer 100xl

Want to get it to lock with the tailgate using factory fob.

Compare the hinges on the XL to the XQ...

Great idea, except the local dealer has no XQ's.............

But i don't know if I care for the one piece glass flexing out for ventilation...??

I have had the xq and xl. Went with the xl the second time because it looked like it would have better ventilation for my hunting dogs in back. I also didn't want the carpeted roof liner that comes on the xq. It was hard to clean and smelled like dog after a few years.

i dont have one yet, but in my research i have found that the xq has a much sturdier hinge (and from a visual perspective i think looks much better)...the XL seems to have just a basic small hinge...you can see the pics online for comparison...personally i was going to go with the XL since it was cheaper, but you still get the nice 'suv/sleek' look, but i found that the hinge seems to be quite inferior in my opinion...

 

however Shamrock Shooter having had both could speak to real life experience much better than I...I would like some feedback on that...

You will be happy with either one .. pick the one that gives you the features you want @ a price you can afford. I know the guys at the shop and I put both the XR & XQ on my truck to see how they looked and preferred the one in my photo Leer 100XR. The windows can all be swapped (I decided to change my sides to "windoors" vs sliders as it makes it much more accessible for work) ... as you can see it is still a "work" truck lol ha ha ha

can you post a pic of the hinges in your XR? they look like they might be closer to the XQ...

 

also, I have a quote for a 100 XQ, $2225, plus a coupon for a free removable glass, and $200 for the hard wired remote that will be connected to the factory remote...so installed price is $2425, plus tax. how does this compare to what everyone else has seen in their market?

 

also, I am waiting for a quote back, but has anyone got the clothes racks? my wife sells clothes and thought about getting this option if they are worth it...dont have a price back yet...

Here is my Leer 100XQ on my fairly new RCSB..

Local dearlship was great, used coupon for bedmat and popout front window.

It came with carpet headliner and light,, out the door was $2145.00

other than the free pop-out window, any other additional accessories? (btw, looks great...i have a black truck also...between you and black denali canada, i think i have a pretty good idea what my truck will look like...so now i think its down to functionality and cost.) thanks for the additional info!

 

also, how is the standard light? is it worth a hoot or just a little dome light tucked either in the front or back?

I have the XQ on my White Silverado. I will post pics later tonight. I love mine. Sleek and smooth, great fit. I bought mine off of Craigslist so I had to have it painted. The day I picked it up I got caught in Hailmagedon 2017, so it was repainted as part of the Hail repairs.

No additional accessories since it's used for hauling fishing raft and basic stuff..

Ended up buying large, heavy duty storage containers to hold groceries, etc..

 

The overhead light is ok, just in back of rear window, but will be adding some LED bed light strips in near future...

Will probably tie LED's into factory light

 

my prior hauler was 96 Tahoe with 383 stroker,, loved the storage in back with seats down so next best thing was Topper on RCSB...

I do realy like back-up camera for easy and safe reverse.

Had to add "bright" LED back-up lights for night since the windows are heavy tint..

I was quoted $1765 for an XQ, $1565 for an XL.

I think for the $200 it's going to be an XQ, with the overhead storage bin and removable front window(additional cost)

dang, that's cheap! I wonder if the major difference is shipping cost?
