Will a dealership install a sunroof on my 2015

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to get a "spoiler" sunroof installed on my 2015 Silverado and was wondering if a dealership would do it or am I going to have to go with an aftermarket sunroof? Anyone have experience on this?

Unlikely that a dealer will do it. More likely that if a dealer said that they would, they would sublet it out.

True I had a spoiler added to a vehicle at purchase many years ago. The dealer sent me down to an up fitter to get it installed. Dealer paid them directly. They had it installed and the lights hooked up in 20 minutes.

You would be better off just having another reputable shop do it. The dealer might have some recommendations on customization shops though.

I almost had a dealer do my wifes car because they could not find the one she wanted, I spoke to the salesman and he told me "the dealership is going to mark it up at least 20% to cover it under the warranty" but if we really wanted one, find a reputable nationwide chain to do it with at least a full 3 year warranty.

Keep in mind even the best of sun roofs will sooner or later leak. I'm not gonna tell you not to do it if you really want one in a pickup get er done.

My last truck had a factory sunroof and it worked perfectly until the day I traded it in 15 years later.

I bought this truck with a factory sunroof and am hopeful it is as trouble free as the last one.

I would not trust an aftermarket sunroof installation to be without some issues.

One dealer that I went to did not have any trucks with sunroof and offered to have one added to a truck for me. I declined.
