High Country Wheels

Recommended Posts

So, I ordered my 2LZ with the 20's and got a call from the dealer telling me that it couldn't get built that way. Apparently I could only get 18's or 22's. I said screw it just get me 22's. I got another call from the dealer and he asked if he could trade my 22's for 20's because another customer wanted 22's. I get to the dealer and it turns out that the other truck was a High Country and I'm not sure how I feel about them. What are your opinions? I don't love them but I don't hate them. But for a 54K truck I want it to be perfect. post-58472-0-22052800-1399045464_thumb.jpg

Personally, not a fan. If you paid for a new truck you should get what you ordered and have it EXACTLY the way you want. I know I am sometimes ocd over things and knowing that it didn't come the way I wanted would drive me crazy every time I looked at it.

Hope this isn't offensive to anyone but I think the High Country wheels are the worst of any of the 2014 Chevy wheels.

I think your 2LZ would look nicer with other wheels.

Also, I'm not sure why can't get 20s for 2LZ. You can on the chevy site.

not only that, how is that a trade. the 22" wheels are a up sale wheel and cost a lot more than the stock 20" high country wheels.

Worst looking wheels for the new GM trucks, I like the GMC polished 18" SLT wheels better than those.

Best wheels (IMO) are the GMC All Terrain rims - and that's what I got - but I also like the standard 20" Denali rims.

I would not take those rims if it were my truck I'd get what I asked for.

Well not exactly a trade. They would take off the price difference.

Regardless, I'm going to get something different. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one the was thinking this.

As long as they are taking the $3k price for the 22" wheels off I would say they should get you what you want, 2 wheels I don't like so far. The high country wheels and the 18" All Terrain wheel. Both of them are ugly as all get out.

I agree you should get the 22's since you paid for them, that was really crappy on the dealers part to give/sell them to somebody else when they were spoken for on your truck. Also sounds like your dealer forgot to put the wheel choice on the order, and it came in with 18's on it since it wasn't "specified", they knew you wanted the 20's. I'd be raising hell. But since you're asking about the High Country wheels, I was on the fence about them when I first got my truck, but they have actually grown on me now. The 22 inch wheel size fits the truck the best and if the High Country wheels were available in 22's, I think I'd be all over them.

In my opinion, the High Country wheels look classier than the other wheels, the others have a sportier look to them with the exception of the All Terrain wheels. They look cheap to me.

I'll be honest with you, those wheels are awful IMO. Sorry if I upset anyone with that comment, to each their own right? I'm fan of these factory wheels though, just have a clean feel.

I wanted these originally but for some it wouldn't get on the build sheet. I haven't signed for it yet. Still trying to make up my mind before I do.

Surely the dealership has at least one truck with those wheels on it that they would swap and make your deal right... those wheels are very common.

All depends on the person. One of the reasons I went GMC vs Chevy was the rims. Too boring, I knew I would be switching them out if I had bought a Silverado.

Totally agree, what I like others won't and so on. Be pretty boring if everyone had the same stuff.
